  5. ZION was where David's Tabernacle was set up.
  6. The restoration of God's presence etc., was in Zion.  We find in
  7. Zion every truth necessary to bring us to perfection.

  9. WHO IS ZION?

  11. The Church...... 'and say unto Zion, Thou art My people".
  12. Isa.51:16, Mt.Zion,
  13. church of the first born.  Heb.12:22-23.

  15. TRUTHS SEEN IN ZION.

  17. 1.   Praise.  Psa.9:14
  18. 2.   Perfection.  Psa.50:1-2
  19. 3.   Rod of authority.  Psa.74:2
  20. 4.   Rest.  Psa.132:14
  21. 5.   Body vision.  Psa.133:3
  22. 6.   Wisdom and Knowledge Isa.33:6.
  23. 7.   Feasts.  Isa.33:20.
  24. 8.   Missionary vision.  Isa.60.

  30. Joshua entered Canaan around 1451 B.C. and began to take the land.
  31. But they failed to capture Zion.  It was not taken until over 400
  32. years later about 1048 B.C. This is a type of the restoration of
  33. truth which began in Martin Luther's day - The truths of Zion
  34. however, were not restored until over 400 years later, i.e. the
  35. days in which we are now living.

  37. FACTS ABOUT ZION.
  38.  
  39. 1.   Beautiful for situation.  "Elevation", Psa.48:2. Highest
  40.      hill.
  41.      (a)  Place of good vision - those in Zion are people of
  42.           vision.  Without a vision the people perish.
  43.      (b)  Above realm of the Plains - spiritual heights in God.
  44.  
  45. 2.   Shape of a foot.  Zion was in the shape of a foot.
  46.  
  47.      (a)  The Ark, His footstool. 1 Chron.28:2.
  48.      (b)  Make the place of My feet glorious, Isa.60:13.
  49.      (c)  Today's church is the Feet members of His Body.  The
  50.           Head is Christ - Pentecost.  Book of Acts.  The Shoulders
  51.           are the early Christians moving right down until today,
  52.           to the feet members.

  54.      Note:- promises regarding the feet.  Eph.1:22 "all things
  55.      under His feet".  Heb.2:8. The Church today will experience
  56.      complete victory even over the last enemy, death.  Psa.
  57.      102:18-20.

  59. 3.   Well of Gihon.  "The Virgin's Fountain". 1 Kngs 1:38.
  60.  
  61.      Was beneath Zion, and was the only unfailing water supply in
  62.      the district.  During a battle or siege they had plenty of
  63.      water.  We, the people of Zion, also have an unfailing water
  64.      supply.  Note.  Psa.46:4 refers to this well, also Isa.8:6,
  65.      waters of Shiloah.

  67.      5 Things are likened to a river or fountain.
  68.      (i)     The Holy Spirit, John 7:38.
  69.      (ii)    The law, word, teaching, direction, Prov.13:14.
  70.      (iii)   Fear of the Lord, Prov.14:27.
  71.      (iv)    Gladness, Psa.46:4.
  72.      (v)     God's pleasures, Psa. 36: 8.

  74. 4.   Gates of Zion.  Psa.9: 14.,...show forth all His praise in
  75.      the Gates of Zion.  Psa.87:2 - "The lord loveth the gates of
  76.      Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob".

  78.      THE THREE GATES OF ZION.
  79.  
  80.      A.   Fountain Gate.  Neh.3:15 speaks of the Holy Spirit and
  81.           the continuous filling of the Holy Spirit.
  82.  
  83.      B.   The water Gate.  Neh.3:26, 8:1-12 speaks of the Word.
  84.           This is where the Well of Gihon was located, thus
  85.           showing the need for the Holy Spirit and the Word to
  86.           work together.
  87.           8:1 - "they gathered together in the Feast of Trumpets
  88.           to listen to the Word.  We are now in the Feast of
  89.           Trumpets."

  91.      C.   The Horse Gate.  Neh. 3:28.  The King's disciplined
  92.           horses used this gate to bear the King's chariot.  It
  93.           speaks of submission, the dealings of God, and being
  94.           harnessed to His will totally.
  95.           God's people will show forth all His praise as they are
  96.           in these Truths.

  98. 5.   Armoury in Zion.  Neh.3:19. This was where the defensive and
  99.      offensive armour was kept.  Jer.50:25 says the Lord has opened
  100.      His armoury.  God is providing His people in Zion with
  101.      offensive and defensive armour and weapons to totally defeat
  102.      the enemy.
  103.      These can only be obtained in Zion, the Place of His
  104.      Presence, in the tabernacle of David, i.e. Praise and Worship.

  106. 6.   House of the Mighty.  Neh.3:16. This refers to David's mighty
  107.      men in 1 Chron.1 1: 10-17, 12:1-40.  They were a company of
  108.      fearless men, performing heroic deeds.  This is a picture of
  109.      the fearless company of people, dwelling in Zion.

  111. 7.   Towers in Zion.  Psa.48:12. These were watchtowers situated
  112.      all over Zion.  Neh.3:25, "the Tower". Neh.3:27 "the great
  113.      Tower".
  114.      Song of Sol.4:4; "Tower of David", which is Zion,
  115.      Mi.4:8 "Thou tower of the flock", speaking of Christ and
  116.      showing that in Zion we will know him as our strong-tower.
  117.      Prov.18:10 "The Name of the Lord is a strong tower, the
  118.      righteous runneth into it and is safe."  A revelation of the
  119.      power and safety in His name is to be found in Zion.
